tampa bay fc
It's been 18 years since the demise of professional soccer in the Tampa Bay area. Instead of waiting for the day an owner with deep pockets would bring soccer back to the bay area, I took it upon myself as a graphic designer and brand story teller to come up with my own vision of what a successful, thriving MLS club would look like in a booming and evolving Tampa landscape.
LOGO DESIGN
Tampa Bay FC's logo is comprised of four parts that represent the Tampa Bay area. The central shield pays homage to the vast Cuban workforce that called Ybor City home in the early 1900's, and is a central element of the Cuban national seal. The letter "T" merging with the shape of an anchor harkens to Tampa Bay's history as a maritime port city and its rich culture of pirate lore. The arched label where the words "Tampa Bay FC" are inscribed, pay tribute to the architecture of Ybor City and its flourishing cigar industry. FInally, the "TB" monogram at the center of the logo represents the united spirit of the Tampa Bay region.
